Therma beach: A very popular beach for its healing warm water. The volcano of Nisyros conserves the existence of the natural warm spas called 'Ebros Thermes', approximately 3 km from Agios Fokas. Due to the high temperature of the water (40-47 degrees) and the risen concentration in potassium, sodium, calcium and magnesium as well as chlorine and sulfur, they are well known internationally for their healing characteristics. These natural spas were discovered in 1934 by the Italian archaeologist Luciano Laurenci and since then it has been noticed that they have helped people with arthritis, rheumatics as well as gynecological problems. In Agios Fokas there are transport facilities straight to the town of Kos (local buses pass by every 15 mins). Swimming is enjoyable but extra attention is required around children due to the bluff seabed of deep water. You should rent a car, motorbike or take the local buses and coaches if you want to discover the rest of the island..
Karydi beach Halkidiki: Karydi Beach is located on the Vourvourou bay in Sithonia, the central peninsula of Halkidiki, and it is famous for its outstandingly beautiful landscape that combines the charm of the countryside and a peaceful seaside. The beach sits towards the end of Vourvourou and it is a mix of rocky outcroppings on stretches of fine white sand. The deep green waters of the beach are very clear and shallow enough to make it a safe natural bay for children to swim. The beachfront has several taverns with fresh seafood and traditional dishes. The resort of Vourvourou abounds with many accommodation options and tourist facilities.
Kalmitsi beach Halkidiki: Kalamitsi beach is situated on the south-eastern side of Sithonia peninsula. It is actually a place to relax, with a lovely, golden seashore washed by the clear waters of the Aegean and little coves which visitors can explore. You can so some camping there since the area is calm and surrounded by beautiful nature. However, do not think that Kalamitsi is far from civilization as many hotels, bars, cafes and restaurants can be found.
The most picturesque part of the settlement is the harbor with its little boat jetty and the laid out nets ready for the fishermens' next catch. The harbor area, with its marine and tourism activity and fishing caiques, little sandy beach, and waterfront lined with the small shops, bars, coffee shops, and restaurants all in a row, is where holiday makers spend much of their relaxation time.
