The beach of Kaki Thalassa (the words mean “the bad sea” in Greek) is situated in front of the homonymous settlement, at a distance of less than 50 kilometers from the center of Athens to the South, and 8-9 kilometers eastern to the town of Keratea, to which the area belongs. It is a beach of medium size, divided in two parts by a small rocky peninsula with the small church of Agios Panteleimon. Both parts are sandy with fine pebbles at parts. The beach owes its name to the fact that it is open to the North and the northern winds raise high waves which make swimming almost impossible and a bit dangerous.
